Instructor Resources

Here are different resources for instructors

Blackboard Support

ITS maintains excellent documentation for using Blackboard. To supplement this documentation, the FLRC provides Blackboard Workshops to assist instructors with getting their sites setup, receiving digital recording assignments, and using the gradebook functions.

Completing Grades

Instructors are able to record their grades using any method that they choose. The FLRC does not provide on demand support for any method of recording grades. We do suggest that you use one of these two methods:

  • Blackboard Gradebook : This solution is highly recommend and is part of the FLRC Blackboard Workshop. Instructors are encouraged to read through the linked instructions and submit a remedy ticket if they need additional assistance.
  • Excel Grading Templates: This link will give you various grading templates that are maintained and supported by the Center for Teaching and Learning. You may need to get to your Electronic Class Rolls to use this solution.

Course Websites

Each department manages their AFS departmental space differently so you will need to contact your specific department about gaining the necessary access. Typically, individual course websites are managed through Blackboard. If you would like help making a site outside of Blackboard, submit a remedy ticket.

If you have been given access to space on AFS and have problems, then you will want to submit a remedy ticket. If you are having problems with Blackboard sites, you should consider taking one of the FLRC or ITS workshops on how to use Blackboard. Check the Blackboard Help documents, as many specific problems are addressed there.

Saving/Accessing Your Files

When you use your ONYEN to login to a computer in any campus lab or the FLRC Media Lab in Dey 109, your H drive is automatically mapped. Use the ITS Help documents if you are trying to access your H drive from a personal or office computer.
